The best MOBAs to get immersed in

From League of Legends to Pokemon Unite, here are the best MOBAs out there right now

The original DotA kicked off the MOBA craze way back in 2003. Here are the best games the genre has to offer 19 years later...

While it may not be the big MOBA it used to be back when it launched in 2012, the premise and wonderful cast of characters still make Awesomenauts more than worth revisting.

7. Awesomenauts

Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One

Wild Rift is the real deal, coming direct from the main game's developers, it's also very much its own thing, being quicker and punchier than the main LoL's.

6. League of Legends: Wild Rift

Platform(s): iOS, Android

A slight but strong twist on the traditional MOBA. Rather than trying to take down your opponents' bases, you're aiming to score points by defeating wild Pokemon.

5. Pokemon Unite

Platform(s): iOS, Android, Switch

The essence of MOBA games is there from the beginning, but the key difference is that you’re commanding champions - in this case actual gods - from a third-person perspective.

4. Smite

Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Released back in 2015, Heroes created a multiverse of sorts where some of the most iconic characters across franchises like Diablo, Starcraft and Overwatch joined forces together. It's brilliant.

3. Heroes of the Storm

Platform(s): PC

One of the more punishing games on this list due to the sheer depth of its mechanics, this classic could keep you playing for thousands of hours.

2. DOTA 2

Platform(s): PC

LoL might not have been the first MOBA, but it's certainly proved to be the biggest. More accessible than DOTA 2, it's established itself as the definitive MOBA.
