The gorgeous open-world racer is headed to Mexico this November

The latest entry in Microsoft's hugely popular sandbox racing series is headed to an Xbox/Windows PC near you in a few months...

1. Forza Horizon 5 release date

The gorgeous open-world racer arrives on Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and PC on Nov 9. It will be playable on Xbox Game Pass on day one, and will also be available via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

2. Gameplay and setting

The Horizon Festival heads to Mexico, with developer Playground Games promising the largest, most varied open-world the series has seen yet.

3. New modes

Campaign Expeditions encourage you to explore the map, something you'll be able to enjoy at 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X (in performance mode), and 1080p/60fps on Xbox Series S.

4. The all new Event Lab lets you create your own races

Serving as an arcade-y, user-created companion piece, Event Lab is a tweak-able toolset that allows you to create your own unique multiplayer races.

5. Multiplayer has received some tweaks

The new Horizon Arcade replaces Forza Horizon 4's Forzathon Live. It takes the form of public events where players collaboratively compete across a series of minigames.
