There's no right or wrong way to play this procedurally generated sandbox, with Iron Gate delivering an experience that is primed to react to any action you decide to undertake.

Come for the tough co-op puzzles, stay for the joyous acting, beautiful set pieces, and inventive approach to play.

7. Resident Evil Village

Infinite's expansive sandbox provides the series freshest campaign entry since Bungie was still in charge. Those online PvP firefights are predictably awesome, too.

Another ingenious platformer/puzzler hybrid from Double Fine; one that isn't afraid to tackle difficult topics with a deft touch while still making you laugh.

2. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

A PS5 plaformer so good, it's basically a playable Saturday morning cartoon. Every clump of fur and glint of steel is pixel-perfect, and the world pops with color and craftsmanship.

1. Deathloop

A layered and systemic stealth game that takes great delight in keeping you guessing until the very end. It's every inch as good as Dishonored 2, which says it all.
