The games that were influenced by Naughty Dog's masterpiece
In terms of themes, there's a lot of shared ground between TLOU and Days Gone. Their dystopian, zombie-ravaged worlds are savage, while both aim for pathos-filled stories.
A loving central bond! Bits where you climb on crates to progress! Copious rat puzzles! TLOU may not be so big on the rodents, but these games are thematically and mechanically linked.
It's no coincidence Drake's only post-TLOU adventure serves up the series' most introspective story. Creative director Neil Druckmann oversaw both titles, though this is a far breezier tale.
Like TLOU, Far Cry 5 nails its setting, with both games delivering verdant, violent worlds. Admittedly, looking after a pet cougar isn't quite the same as hanging with your surrogate kid.
This emotional indie shares a kinship with TLOU through its grief-stricken story. Gameplay-wise it's completely different, but tonally these bros could be Joel and Ellie's soulmates.
