Whether you start out as Nomad, Street Kid, or Corpo, it won't hugely change your journey. Missions and storylines have the same outcome no matter which lifepath you go for, meaning there's no wrong choice.
The "main" story between V and Johnny Silverhand is surprisingly short, so don't rush through it. Instead, savor your time in Night City, and do plenty of side missions to get cool perks and weapons.
